Custom Thermal Labels That Match Your Printers, Batch After Batch
Factory-direct thermal label rolls — direct thermal and thermal transfer — cut to your sizes, with 4x6 shipping labels as the workhorse, wound to your core, outer diameter, and wind direction, and held to the same spec on every reorder.

Thermal Labels at Work Across Your Operation
Whether you ship fifty parcels a day or run labeling across a warehouse, the buying job is the same: rolls that run, batches that match, and a supplier that repeats.
E-commerce Shipping Desks
Daily 4x6 carrier labels printed on demand — reordered by the case, not the single roll.
3PL & Fulfillment Lines
High-volume shipping and content labels across accounts, with one supplier holding the spec.
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
Location, pallet, and content labels that stay scannable through daily handling.
Asset & Equipment Tracking
Thermal transfer synthetics for multi-year identification on racks, tools, and returns loops.
Cold Chain & Outbound
Facestock routed for refrigerated picks and one-way parcels — matched to the environment each label meets.
Match the Print Method to the Label Job
Direct thermal and thermal transfer are two different ways a label survives its job — the choice follows the label's lifespan and environment, not the printer brand.
| Your Label Job | Print Method | Facestock Route | Ribbon | Cost Structure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-way shipping labels & receipts | Direct thermal | Thermal paper | None | Lowest per label — nothing to buy but the roll |
| Shelf-life warehouse & content labels | Thermal transfer | Semi-gloss paper | Required | Ribbon adds supply cost; image resists daily handling |
| Multi-year asset, cold storage, outdoor | Thermal transfer | Synthetic (PET-class) | Required | Highest durability — survives heat, UV, and abrasion |
Direct thermal prints ribbon-free for short-life work like shipping labels, while thermal transfer bonds a ribbon on for durable, long-life images. Source: printer OEM documentation. An industry rule, not our own test result.
Thermal direct and semi-gloss rolls for warehouse printers are an established line at our factory. Rolls quote to your core, OD, and wind direction. Labels only — no printer hardware advice.
For wet and outdoor duty on the thermal transfer side, see our waterproof label options.
4x6 Thermal Labels Built to Your Roll Spec
4x6 is the standard shipping label size — but retail SKUs force you into fixed cores and counts. A factory order is configured to your printer instead: core, outer diameter, wind direction, and labels per roll.

Pick the Core
3", 2", or 1" cores, with large-core reels for Zebra-class industrial printers when your machine takes them.

Match Your Machine
Send your printer model, max OD, and wind direction — the spec is checked against 127+ machine profiles before production.

Four Checks Before Shipping
Unwind direction, core ID, liner tension, and release force are verified on the roll line — not sampled.

Roll or Fanfold
Rolls wound to your OD limit, or fanfold stacks for bench printers — perforated or continuous.
Choose 3", 2", or 1" cores wound to your printer's direction, matched against 127+ machine profiles before production. Send your printer model if unsure — we confirm the spec. 7-inch cores are not offered.
Every roll passes four machine-ready checks: unwind direction, core ID, liner tension, and release force. The checks run before rolls leave the plant. Verification covers roll-format orders.

Common Thermal Label Sizes at a Glance
These sizes cover most shipping and warehouse stations — any repeat size is die-cut to the same tooling, so reorder labels match the first run.
| Size (W x L) | Typical Use | Common Config |
|---|---|---|
| 4 x 6 | Carrier shipping labels, packing slips | 3" or 1" core; fanfold available |
| 4 x 4 | Large content labels, pallet labels | 3" core rolls |
| 4 x 2 | Parcel content and carton labels | 3" or 1" core rolls |
| 2.25 x 1.25 | Address and small product labels | 1" core rolls |
| 2 x 1 | Shelf, bin, and small item labels | 1" core rolls |
Repeat sizes are die-cut to a ±0.3 mm tolerance, so label positions your printers expect stay where they should. Applies to repeat tooling. Custom sizes quote from your artwork.
Linerless formats exist in the market; our current program is liner-backed rolls.
Pre-Print Your Logo or Order Blank Rolls
The split is simple: constant information belongs on press, variable information belongs to your thermal printer at the station.
Pre-Print, Then Print the Rest
Brand marks, colors, and fixed warnings go on press; tracking numbers, batch codes, and barcode areas stay blank for your printer.
- Constant zones printed to your artwork
- Variable zones left clean for on-demand printing
- Barcode and batch areas sized to your scanners
Order Blank Reorder Rolls
Nothing pre-printed — clean facestock wound to your spec, ready for whatever your station prints that day.
- Blank direct thermal or thermal transfer facestock
- Your core, OD, wind, and roll count
- Same batch QC as pre-printed programs
Digital presses print variable data — barcodes, batch codes, and serial numbers that change label to label — with no plate cost on reprints. Zones map in your artwork — constants printed, variables blank. Digital route only.
Running serialized or barcode-heavy programs? See our barcode label programs.
Reorder Consistency Backed by Batch QC
Switching consumable suppliers stands or falls on one question: will batch twelve match batch one? Here is the control chain that answers it — and the paperwork that proves it.
Every Label Scanned
100% scan inspection on the line — defects stop at the plant, not at your packing bench.
Color Recalibrated Every 500
An inline spectrophotometer re-anchors color at 500-label intervals through the run.
Delta E Controlled
The same color standard governs repeat orders, not just first production.
Paper Trail per Batch
Color report and optical scan records travel with each shipment, tied to batch material certificates.
Every label is scan-checked, an inline spectrophotometer recalibrates color every 500 labels, and color reports plus optical scan records ship with each batch. Delta E control runs across repeat orders. Reports travel with their batches.
From Proof to Reorder: the Working Timeline
What happens after you send a spec — and what repeats look like once your tooling is set.
Send Your Spec — or Just Your Printer Model
Sizes, method, core, and volume if you have them; a printer model works if you don't. A feasibility or quote path comes back within about 12 business hours.
Print Proof on Real Material
A printed proof runs on your actual facestock with production ink — the proof fee is quoted with your order, and what you approve is what ships.
Approve, Then 4–5 Working Days
Standard production runs 4–5 working days after artwork approval, on the line that ran your proof.
Ship Sea, Air, or DDP
Sea freight for planned replenishment, expedited air for gaps, DDP options when you want landed cost fixed.
Reorder Without Plate Costs
Digital reprints carry no plate cost — your tooling, artwork, and QC standard reload with the order.
MOQ starts at 500 pieces per design, standard production runs 4–5 working days after artwork approval, and inquiries get a feasibility or quote path within about 12 business hours. Lead time starts at artwork approval, excluding freight. Rush air freight quoted per order.
A Factory Set Up for Label Volume
Thermal label programs are volume programs — the plant running them needs capacity, color control, and one roof over both.

Daily label capacity across programs
From a 15,000 m² Shenzhen factory running 8-color flexo plus HP digital presses at 1M+ labels daily, we have manufactured labels factory-direct since 2008. Figures reflect the current plant. Counted from 2008.
